Kitchen Fire Suppression

a complete detection & suppression system pre-engineered for commercial kitchens

What is Kitchen Fire Suppression?

kitchen fire supressionIt’s widely accepted that a kitchen, whether it is domestic or commercial, contains many potential fire hazards and an accident or fault within a kitchen is frequently the cause of fires within the UK. None more so than fires caused by oil in fryers which are particularly dangerous as they can remain extremely hot long after use and the operator has moved away from them.

Due to the highly combustible nature of hot oil, it is truly frightening the speed and ferocity a fire can spread in the kitchen, endangering the lives of not only those within the kitchen but those within the building. Many of these life threatening fires could be prevented or controlled by installing a simple, but highly effective Automatic Fire Suppression System from Fire & Safety Solutions Ltd.

Key Points:

  • Easy / flexible installation
  • Quick & effective suppression
  • Highly reliable: no electricity or moving parts
  • Highly economical

Our Automatic Fire Suppression systems are specifically designed to extinguish kitchen fires quickly and effectively, deploying extenguishant designed for use on hot oil. The small, self-contained fire suppression system requires no external power source and can be installed within an adjacent cupboard or directly inside a suitable extractor hood so that it is not in the way or obtrusive. Fire & Safety Solutions Ltd use the patented linear detection tubing which is installed throughout the risk area and connected to the cylinder valve. The tubing is then filled with nitrogen and this pressure is utilised to hold back the extinguishant in the cylinder.

Should a fire occur the pressurised tubing will burst and the extinguishant will be deployed from the fixed diffusers onto the fire. This will effectively neutralise the problem and extinguishing the fire rapidly.
